Tianhe Supercomputer Tops in New Ranking

China's new generation Tianhe supercomputer has topped the latest Small Data Green Graph 500 ranking at 22,301.67 MTEPS/W, according to the Changsha national supercomputer center in central China's Hunan province. Tianhe's latest laurel demonstrates its high performance level and energy efficiency.

New-Generation Telescope Releases First Images

The 80cm telescope of China's Sun Yat-sen University recently launched observations at the Lenghu astronomical observation and research base in China's northwestern Qinghai province, and released the first batch of observation images. It is China's new-generation ground-based infrared astronomical telescope. It was the first time a domestic detector was used for science-grade imaging observation in the K-band.

Two New Satellites Launched

China launched a Long March-2C carrier rocket, placing two satellites into space on November 25. The rocket sent the pair of satellites, Siwei Gaojing-2 03 and Siwei Gaojing-2 04, into their preset orbit. It was the 547th flight mission of the Long March series of rockets.
